The Choptank River Lighthouse, a replica of the original lighthouse, is being built on Long Wharf in Cambridge, Maryland. It is being funded with a combination of donations from various sources and individual memberships in the Keepers of the Light program. All funds go toward material costs related to the building of the lighthouse. Labor to build the lighthouse is donated and merits membership in the Keepers of the Light. All such individual labor and the companies or groups donating material or artifacts will be permanently recognized in the lighthouse. Management of all aspects of the lighthouse, until such time as it is given to the City of Cambridge, is the responsibility of the Choptank River Lighthouse Committee, aka: CRLC. Net revenue from sales of services or products offered by by the CRLC contribute to the funding of the lighthouse. The CRLC is a private not-for-profit 501(c) organization and contributions to the project are tax deductible. |
